At Deal Nursery and Forest School, we believe that the most meaningful learning happens when children are given the freedom to explore, discover, and play in the natural world. Our Forest School sessions are a much-loved part of our weekly routine, offering little ones the chance to connect with nature in a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment.

Set within beautiful natural surroundings, our Forest School encourages children to engage in hands-on, child-led experiences—whether it's building dens, hunting for mini beasts, creating woodland crafts, or simply splashing in muddy puddles. One of the highlights for many of our children is gathering around the fire pit to toast marshmallows—an experience full of wonder, warmth, and delicious fun.

Safety is always our top priority. All fire-based activities are carefully planned and closely supervised by our qualified Forest School leaders. Children are taught how to behave safely around the fire pit, how to use tools responsibly, and how to respect nature and one another in a woodland setting. Through this, they not only build confidence and resilience, but also develop a sense of responsibility and awareness of the world around them.
